On the spiritually guided writings of "Anne" plus the special role of Motherhood
|

How did a physician to the Navy Seals end up becoming a spokesperson for
Anne, a receiver of God’s word? Guest speaker, Cyndi Peterson, M.D.,
shared her story with Magnificat on Saturday, May 2. After suffering the
death of her two toddlers, Cyndi Peterson experienced her own Catholic
reconversion. She was “led” to meet Anne, a mother of six who has received
messages from Jesus, Mary and the Saints. Known as “The Volumes”, these
writings are filled with love, truth and are a wake-up call to our generation.
(All writings have been submitted to the Vatican and are under the scrutiny and
discernment of Anne’s local Bishop and priests).
Imagine Cyndi’s amazement when she “coincidentally” met Anne and was
then asked to serve as a voice in the desert for the spirit-inspired writings!
Cyndi began speaking about “Anne -- A Lay Apostle” to build awareness of
these heavenly messages. Cyndi was also invited to attend a personal
retreat with Anne and has come to trust that the Lord is truly speaking
through His humble daughter.
This was Cyndi’s encore appearance at our Magnificat, West San Fernando
Valley Chapter. She has been interviewed on EWTN, Ave Maria Radio and has
spoken at other Magnificat Chapters and parishes in the U.S. She has also
spoken at numerous Marian conferences as well as testified in Washington D.
C. against Embryonic Stem Cell Research.
Cyndi also shared her insights into the special vocation of Motherhood. This
mother of two boys who lost two toddler daughters before they reached the
age of three, knows the great pain, joy and precious moments children bring
into our lives.

Dr. Elizabeth Kim, Guest Speaker August 22, 2009
Just as our Lord healed the faithful while he walked the earth, Dr. Elizabeth Kim experienced an amazing physical healing as a young woman in Korea.
Dr. Kim now counsels those who are emotionally or psychologically crippled through the love of our living God.
|
When Dr. Elizabeth Kim was a young girl, received a miraculous
healing at the Korean National Charismatic Healing Service in 1978,
the same year she immigrated to America. This transfigured young
lady continues to testify about God's amazing power and real love for
His people. "Our Lady has always been my Mother and Intercessor,”
says Dr. Kim, who serves as an intercessor led by the Holy Spirit in
imitation of Mary.
Dr. Kim is a distinguished USC graduate, licensed psychologist and
marriage/family therapist whose practice integrates the Catholic Faith
with psychology in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults
with childhood trauma, abuse, depression, anxiety and AD/HD. The
Divine Physician has truly helped countless people through this
humble servant. As a Director of the Brain Fitness Center in LA and
Orange County, her multi-ethnic, dynamic practice is the perfect
setting for her vast experience in physical, emotional, and spiritual
healing which she places under the Lordship of Jesus, the Healer.
Dr. Kim has appeared on TV with Fr. Michael Manning speaking about
"Catholic Faith, Psychology and Shame."

Ministry to Catholic Women
Marilyn Quirk, Magnificat Foundress Special Guest Speaker Saturday, November 7, 2009
|
"I am an ordinary women," says Marilyn Quirk.
The Lord called this wife and mother of six from
New Orleans in an extraordinary way. What
started as a simple, one-time breakfast with
Catholic friends has turned into an
international Catholic women's ministry
recognized by the Vatican.
While studying to become an Episcopal medical missionary, Marilyn converted to
Catholicism in 1958. This mother of six children and ten grandchildren is the
foundress of Magnificat®, A Ministry to Catholic Women. The ministry was
inspired by the Holy Spirit 26 years ago in New Orleans in a simple faith
gathering of friends on October 7, 1981 with the blessing of Archbishop Phillip M.
Hannan and Bishop Stanley J. Ott. Marilyn has been its leader, now with 70
chapters worldwide– in the U.S., Canada, Malta, Poland, the Caribbean and
Uganda, Africa and many in formation.
Marilyn has spoken at most of the chapters and has given talks on prayer and
Christian womanhood at seminars, conferences, days of renewal, and
retreats. Convinced of the inspiration and powerful influence for good that
women can have in the family, church, and society, Marilyn passionately believes
in the dignity and vocation of women. She often quotes the late Bishop Fulton
Sheen who said, “Women are the measure of civilization.”
Marilyn Quirk strives to live a life of devoted service to her God, her family, and
her church. She and her husband are members of the Knights of the Holy
Sepulchre and Legatus; in addition, they are extraordinary ministers of the
Eucharist in their church parish of St. Angela Merici in the Archdiocese of New
Orleans.
In the Jubilee Year of 2000, Marilyn Quirk received the Pontifical award Pro
Ecclesia et Pontifice on January 29th from Pope John Paul II. When Marilyn
received the award, she joyfully carried the women of Magnificat in her heart.

Guest speaker, Jane Nemit, founding member of our Magnificat West
San Fernando Valley Chapter, shared her inspiring testimony of being
open to God’s plan and holding ones faith in illness. Nine weeks after
Jane was born in New Haven, Connecticut, her mother passed away.
Then on the day of her mother’s funeral, Jane contracted spinal
meningitis. From infancy, Jane would be guided and inspired by the
towering faith and care of her grandmother who taught her when ill,
“Let us offer it up to Jesus.”
Jane came to California with husband, Jeff and children where she
was an active member of St. Bernardine in West Hills as CCD
instructor, Eucharistic minister, lector and their first parish prayer
group. While attending SCRC in 1988, she and prayer companions
heard a call at the same time from the Holy Spirit to start the first
Magnificat chapter in California.
After returning from Medjugorge in 1991, Jane’s faith would be
challenged with lung cancer. Then in 2002, while undergoing
chemotherapy for breast cancer, she suffered a stroke that left her
paralyzed and unable to talk. As a last resort, Jane underwent brain
surgery. Though still unable to say anything, when a Eucharistic
Minister brought communion one day, Jane miraculously prayed the
Our Father.
Jane Nemit is a living miracle. “My life is only to give glory to God
and all he had done for me.”
