I want to share with you a most unusual story. It begins
with the reason why I sent out a Christmas card with
our Lady of Guadalupe on it. It was the 31st of
October ('06) and while working at St. Joseph Radio,
a shipment of cards came in for Christmas. I looked at
the one with Our Lady of Guadalupe and said to myself
not many people know about her and the miracle of
how she came to appear to Juan Diego, maybe I could
send this card out to let people know about her
a little more.
Well, Thursday morning I happened to be scheduled to
record a speaker for a Magnificat meal in Northridge.
I was called the night before to come early because
there was going to be a special guest from the Philippines,
Brother Carmelo, who does a healing service that includes
rose petals. I have to admit that I am a little leery of
healing services, but I said I would come early.
When I got to the breakfast, I noticed a vase of beautiful white roses. Maureen, the Magnificat
Coordinator, told me she just picked them up at Costco. When Father Avenido, Magnificat's spiritual
advisor, announced Brother Carmelo had one hour to spare before his flight back to the Philippines,
Brother Carmelo broke of the heads of the beautiful white roses (I almost died because I thought how
terrible to destroy those beautiful roses)! Fr. Avenido walked around the room anointing the palms of our
hands and forehead with oil and Brother Carmelo followed with the bowl of rose petals. He placed a rose
petal on everyone's neck next to their skin, laid hands on their heads, and prayed. He said Mary had
started a healing in each of us, either spiritual or physical and each of us would get an icon on our rose
petal that would have special meaning intended for each one of us.
Needless to say, I was not expecting to find anything on mine because I was not a great believer in that
sort of thing. I finally took my rose petal and held it up to the light. The first thing I saw
was something that looked like flames. I slowly turned it around and I was totally amazed. It was so
clear it was scary and even more outstanding and unique for me was that it was Our Lady of Guadalupe!

been wearing glasses since I was
a child. Real thick ones. I could
not see without them.
While attending the International
Magnificat Conference in New
Orleans last March ('07), I was

healing. I was praying to heal
my psoriasis that I've had for
years. When I woke up the next
morning, I realized I could see
without my glasses. I didn't get
healed of my psoriasis but my
eyes were healed. No more
